Aberdeenshire CC's move towards devolved local government has hit teething problems, with senior officers and members not able to attend meetings, reports The Scotsman (p4).

The council recently set up a system of six area committees to take control of planning, roads, education and other strategic issues, with council area representatives required to meet every two weeks.

The area managers have now called for meetings to be held every three weeks instead.
