The Independent (tabloid, p12) reports that leaseholders have been given important new rights to help tenants settle disputes with landlords over service charges and insurance. Application to a Leasehold Valuation Tribunal will apparently take the bite out of bullying landlords. Tenants will be able to challenge their landlords through the tribunals which will consist of three members - a lawyer, a valuer and a lay person.
