Nearly three quarters of Glasgow City Council tenants read most, or part, of a guide informing them of the council's plan to transfer its housing stock to a registered social landlord, a survey has found.

Some 70% of tenants read the guide, according to the MORI poll of 23,341 tenants, commissioned by the city council.

But despite the council's efforts many tenants showed they were uncertain

about whether the transfer would lead to an improved service, with 46% indicating they were not sure if the housing association would do a better job, against 45% expecting an improvement and 7% expecting things to get worse after a transfer.
