Two hundred job losses among Thames Valley police officers are expected to be announced by chief constable Charles Pollard this afternoon, reports BBC Oxford.

Mr Pollard is telling the members of the police authority - which covers Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire - where the cuts will be made in response to what he says is a shortfall in government funding under the new formula of more than £7m.

Hertfordshire police authority, which received an extra £11% increase in government funding under the formula, plans to recruit an extra 46 police officers and additional civilian staff, according to BBC Three Counties.
