The Daily Telegraph's Connected supplement (p12) carries the first in a series of articles entitled 'Boot camp: surviving the millennium'.

The feature has a number of tips on how to minimise the impact of the computer bug anD says 'an astonishing amount of twaddle has been written about the so-called millennium bug, so this week we will try to set the record straight'.

In the home, the only device that might conceivably give you some trouble is the PC, it says, adding: 'It's important to say that no computer will stop working as a result of the millennium bug, nor will it catch fire or explode.'
