Prime Minister will make a statement on Northern Ireland and health Secretary will make a statement on the future of London hospitals.

A decision on the THORP plant at Sellafield is expected.

Written announcements are expected to include: compulsory competitive tendering for legal services and housing management; council tax valuations; transport supplementary grants; and local authority powers to borrow by issuing stock.

Other announcements are likely on the future of the British Transport Police; European structural funds for Scotland; faulty pacemakers; litter louts; the Criminal Cases Review Authority and injuries compensation white paper; embarkation checks on passengers leaving the UK; Hercules replacement programme; the review of the Social Fund; and immigration appeals.

Committees include Chancellor Kenneth Clarke on the budget to the Treasury Committee. Oral questions at 2.30 pm are on foreign and Commonwealth matters. main business is proceedings on the Statutory Sick Pay Bill.
