Stagecoach, the bus and rail company, yesterday announced the departure of two senior executives following a sustained fall in the share price, reports The Financial Times (p26).

The company announced the resignations of Mike Kinski, group chief executive, and Larry King, chairman and chief executive of the Coach USA subsidiary in America.

Following the departures, Brian Souter, founder chairman of Stagecoach, is expected to be back in the driving seat of the firm. Mr Kinski will be replaced by Keith Cochrane, group finance director.

The company, said Mr Souter, 'will continue to be responsible for corporate strategy, business development and identifying new acquisition opportunities'.
