Former Plymouth city solicitor and deputy chief executive Malcolm Iley has joined the London office of solicitors Nabarro Nathanson to head up its public sector team.
Before joining Nabarro Nathanson, Mr Iley was responsible for developing Bevan Ashford's London office as well as being formerly managing partner of the firm's Plymouth practice where he was rated by legal directory Chambers & Partners as one of the UK's top local government lawyers.
Mr Iley's experience includes advising clients on issues involving significant planning expertise and he has managed a number of planning inquiries (eg Royal William Yard CPO). In addition he has advised in connection with a large number of regeneration projects including those for Plymouth, Bristol and Black Country urban development corporations, City Challenge, SRB, and local authority joint ventures. This included the Sutton Harbour Regeneration Project which won the secretary of state's Award for Urban Regeneration.
