Tower Hamlets has urged the government and London Transport to give the green light to the Jubilee line extension.

Gwyneth Deakins, Chair of the Policy Strategy Committee said: 'This important development has been shunted into the sidings for over a year. Yet increasingly it has become obvious there is little or no reason why work on the Extension should not start.'

Issues revolving around the creditors of the Canary Wharf have now been resolved.

'The Jubilee Extension will help in the continued regeneration of East London,' said Gwyneth Deakins.
