Councils have prepared flood warning and emergency plans ahead of the exceptionally high tides forecasted for later this week.

The Environment Agency fears record high spring tides expected this week and in early October could lead to flooding around the east of England. Norfolk CC has vastly improved its defences to include early warning mechanisms that will allow time for flood gates to be closed. It will establish control centres or open up rest centres if evacuation is likely.
