The European Investment Bank has announced loans of £39 million for Fife and Borders regional councils, reports The Glasgow Herald (p11).
Fife is borrowing £28 million from the EC long-term lending institution for a number of water supply schemes. The loan to Borders will be spent on road schemes, says the paper.
