Council workers' representatives say misinformation from Leicestershire CC makes widespread cuts to jobs and services look inevitable, reports BBC Leicester.

Leicester city council, which becomes a unitary authority in April, has announced the cost of reorganisation will be£3 million more than earlier thought.

The unions say this is because of earlier inaccurate information from the county council.

A Unison spokeswoman said the effect of this would be effectively to reduce the government's spending limit of£261 million for the new city authority by a further£6m to£8 million.
