London's Evening Standard carries the story (p14) of a 'fact-finding' mission to Tunisia by geography teachers in Wandsworth approved by the education committee.

The paper reports that at a cost of £2,340, nine teachers plus a council schools inspector visited the resort of Hammemet.

Wandsworth's inspector for curriculum development, Michael Hewitt, told the paper that it was considered 'valuable' for the teachers to have experience of a developing country.
