Four Welsh councils and Dyfed-Powys police have set up the first joint initiative over a whole police force area to have drug dealers evicted from council and housing association properties.

Cardiganshire, Powys, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire CCs will work with police to gain evictions of convicted dealers.

A police spokesman said: 'Drug dealers living in premises owned by them are liable under the Asset Confiscation Procedures to lose their premises but very rarely have dealers living in rented accommodation been exposed to such a risk.'
