The Welsh Office will allocate £19.5m for special housing projects this year to be shared by 32 councils, Welsh housing minister Gwilym Jones has announced, reports The Western Mail (p3).

The grants will fund area renewal projects, such as converting redundant buildings and providing flats above shops and partnership schemes with the private rented sector.
