Carmarthen district councillor Ioan Richard has complained to the Commission for Racial Equality over a councillor's suggestion that Irish travellers be turned back at the ports, reports The Western Mail (p7).

Mr Richard is preparing a file on the case for travellers in Carmarthen to take to the police. The council denies the comments were racist.
