The outcome of an appeal lodged by Welwyn Hatfield DC over a £49m damages award may not be known for about a year, warns Slough Estates chairman Nigel Mobbs.

The Daily Telegraph reports (p28) that the council has until the end of September to pay £10m to the property developer the high court ruled it misled.

The money is refundable if the council wins its appeal.

The paper reports that Slough lifted half-year profits by 14%, to £37.4m.
