West Wales is shaping up its tourist marketing in the face of the threat from the channel tunnel with a £80,000 boost from local authorities, reports the Western Mail (p5).

The West Wales Tourism group has linked up with Swansea City Council to organise eleven overseas exhibitions to promote tourism. The region is aware that people living in the South East will find it easier to visit Paris once the tunnel is built than travel to Wales.
