Council tenants in Wigan MBC face a possible 21p rise in their rents as a result of the introduction of CCT to housing management.

Officials in the housing department have calculated that CCT will increase costs by around £300,000 a year. If this were passed on to residents, it would necessitate an increase of 21p on rents of around £30 a week.

Neil Turner, highways and works chairman, said the council will not make any savings through tendering.
