Wyre BC deputy leader Mike Anderton died on Sunday, aged 55.

Cllr Anderton had served as a Labour councillor since 1991, taking over as deputy leader in 1998. He was chairman of the countryside, leisure and tourism committee and the council's representative on the North West Tourist Board. Other positions included director of the Lancashire Tourism Partnership, chairman of Wyre Tourism Association. He was an official for the National Union of Civil and Public Servants.
